Pawnee — Timothy "Tim" Allen Bowen Sr., 62, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield. Tim was born Dec. 20, 1963, in Lawton, Oklahoma, the son of Cecil E. and Jacqueline A. Schuecking Bowen. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil, in 2024, and his brother, Jeff, in 2019.

Tim graduated from Pawnee High School in 1981, and he owned and operated Tim Bowen Heating and Cooling. Tim didn't know a stranger and would help anyone he could. He was known as Pawnee's handyman, and he could fix anything that was broken. He also had several quirky, memorable talents — he could recite the alphabet forward and backward, and he could ride a bicycle forward and backward just as easily.

Tim is survived by his mother, Jackie Bowen, of Pawnee; four sons, Tim Bowen Jr., Joey Bowen (Sam Andring), Thomas S. Bowen and Luke C. Bowen, all of Pawnee; two grandsons, Elijah W. Bowen and Cylas A. Bowen; one brother, Edward L. Bowen, of Springfield; three nieces; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Tim's family will meet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at noon on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Pawnee United Methodist Church in Pawnee, with Rev. Randy Sharp and Rev. Chuck Kurfman officiating.
