Springfield — Antoine Lake, 31, of Springfield, Illinois, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Antoine was born July 13, 1986, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, the son of Charles C. and Mary Ann Harding Lake. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Cliffie L. (Joseph) Elliott; his paternal grandfather, Charles A. Lake; and an aunt, Frankie Coleman Antoine graduated from James Madison High School and worked retail and sales. Antoine is survived by his parents of Ripley, Tennessee; one sister, Tamika K. Lake, of Springfield; one brother, Jason J. Lake, of Ripley; one niece, Lilith A. Collins; and two nephews, Maddox A. and Stagger L. Collins, all of Springfield; his grandmother, Mary A. (Wayne) Hill, of Decatur; grandfather, Walter T. (Patricia) Battles, of Chicago; several aunts and uncles, including Tracy (Charles) Taylor and Mary L. Estes, both of Decatur; Lenora V. Battles of Hammond, Indiana; Valencia Elliott Bush of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Christopher Wilson of Decatur; Joseph Jr. Elliott and Lyle Elliott, both of Milwaukee; George (Malvine) Elliott of Indianapolis; Richard Battles and Jeffery Battles, both of Chicago; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Thompson's Mortuary, 150 Volz Ave., Ripley, TN 38063. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee, Illinois, is serving the family of Antoine Lake.
