Pawnee – Aray Doreen Rohdeman, 80, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Aray was born May 22, 1936, in Virginia, the daughter of Burt and Venice D. Riley Cox. She married John Rohdeman on July 2, 1955, in Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, in 2007; a son Gary; two brothers, Lloyd Cox and Gene (Jimmy) Riley; her aunt and uncle, Leslie and Lourria Riley, who raised her after her mother died. Aray was a homemaker who loved sitting on her porch, listening to her wind chimes and enjoying her flowers. She also loved her dog, Sugar. Aray is survived by three daughters, Venice D. (husband, Donald) Catizon of Pawnee, Deborah J. (husband, Timothy) Miller of Naples and Karen S. (husband, Gary) Shade of Virden; three sons, William E. (wife, Urna) Rohdeman of Springfield, Gary L. (fiancé, LouAnn Krumpp) Rohdeman of Pawnee and David A. (wife, Tracey) Rohdeman of Auburn; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack L. (wife, Freda) Riley of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Wanda Riley and Louise Diefenback, both of Springfield; one sister-in-law, Joyce Cox, of Pawnee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Aray's family will meet friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. A visitation also will be held 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the funeral home with Rev. Aaron Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Aray Rohdeman.
