Pawnee — Bobby Allen Wood, 77, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Pawnee, died Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Illinois Veterans' Home at Quincy. Bobby was born April 23, 1948, in Kennett, Missouri, the son of Wilborn W. and Beatrice Marlow Wood. He married Joyce C. Diaz on July 2, 1980, in Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce, in 2023; and an infant sister, Billie June.

Bobby graduated from Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, Missouri. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Springfield. Bobby worked in management at Kmart for 30 years, retiring in 2010. He also worked at the Illinois Theater in Jacksonville for many years.

Bobby is survived by one brother, Johnnie (wife, Debbie) Wood, of Arenzville; one sister, Regina (husband, John) Muse, of Marshfield, Missouri; three nieces; and one nephew.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee, with Rev. Carol Creech officiating and the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County conducting military honors.
