Obituary

Springfield — Brandon Thomas Emerson, 41, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Bloomington, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home in Springfield. Brandon was born July 12, 1982, in Bloomington, the son of Kimberly L. Emerson, and he was raised in Danvers. He married Aubrey D. Baumhardt on July 18, 2003, at Calvary Church in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Audrene and Thomas Emerson, and his mother-in-law, Jackie Baumhardt.

Brandon attended Olympia High School in Stanford, Illinois, and graduated from Riverton High School in 2001. He attended Berean Bible Institute and AMES Christian University and became an ordained minister through New Creations Ministries. Brandon was a pastor at several churches and involved in several outreach ministries, including Calvary Church in Springfield, Faith Outreach Christian Center in Sherman, Journey Church in Bloomington-Normal, Assemblies of God World Missions, Sports Fan Outreach International and Prison Ministries. He also was a missionary in South Africa and Guatemala.

Brandon is survived by Aubrey Baumhardt of Springfield; his mother, Kimberly (husband, David Charles) Coffey, of Jamestown, Kentucky; one daughter, Mariah J. England, of Springfield; his twin sister, Brooke N. Bosie, of Springfield; one brother, Matthew J. (wife, Anna) England, of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Brandon's family will meet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Calvary Church's Jefferson Street campus at 1730 W. Jefferson St. in Springfield, with Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will be at Old Salem Cemetery in Springfield.
