Pawnee – Connie Sue Towne, 74, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Sunday, April 22, 2018, at her son's home in Stonington. Connie was born Dec. 13, 1943, in Taylorville, the daughter of Merle R. and Helen E. Hubert Aymer. She married Thomas E. Towne Jan. 6, 1962, in Pawnee. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tom, in 2009.
Connie attended the Faith Outreach Christian Center in Sherman. She was a 1961 graduate of Pawnee High School. She worked as a beautician for several years at Ye Old Copper Inn and later at Rene's Beauty Shop in Kincaid, before retiring in 2009.
Connie is survived by one son, David M. (wife, Helen) Towne, of Stonington; one daughter, Lori A. Wooters, of Duncan, Arizona; five grandchildren, Serena Wright, Emalie Towne, Kelsey Buzzbomm, Sgt. Jason Bolton and Tyler Gilbert; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Duane R. Aymer, of Pawnee; three sisters, Debbie J. (husband, Walter) Funsch and Kathy J. Hill, both of Pawnee, and Judy A. Armstrong of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. Rev. Chuck Kurfman will officiate. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
