Springfield — David Henry Dodge, 74, of Springfield, Illinois, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield. David was born Oct. 18, 1950, in Springfield, the son of Charles E. and Alice J. Creviston Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ellen Daniels; and a brother, John Dodge.

David was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Patrick's Catholic School in Springfield. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, enjoyed fishing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. David worked in maintenance at Wells Fargo in Springfield and as a cook at Gabatoni's Restaurant in Springfield.

He is survived by three brothers, Charles (wife, Donna) Dodge of Girard, Edward (wife, Peggy) Dodge of Rosemead, California, and Mike Dodge of Quincy; three sisters, Margaret Blakley of Springfield, Patricia (husband, Jay) Dodd of Loami and Nancy (husband, Tom) Crouch of Loami; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
