David A.
Fansler
Jun 27, 1947 — Aug 25, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Alan Fansler. Born June 27, 1947, in Taylorville, the son of Harold David and Ethyle Lucille Battles Fansler. David transitioned from this life on Aug. 25, 2025, while living at the Fellowship Home at Brookside in Valdosta, Georgia, at the age of 78.
David enjoyed sailing, fishing, scuba diving, farming, traveling, golfing, hunting, sharp shooting and making wine and craft beer. He was a member of the sheriff's posse in Montrose, Colorado, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was a volunteer firefighter and owned two restaurants, among his many interests.
David never met an enemy or failed to be the life of a party. David's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving a void in the lives of those he touched. David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ethyle Fansler, his first wife, Sharon Magos Fansler, and two grandsons, Brett and Luke George.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Marschall Fansler, of Madison, Florida; a daughter, Rebecca (husband, Gary) George; a granddaughter, Laura (husband, Lincoln) McCready; three grandchildren, Jessa, Colt and Dash; a son, Jeffery David (wife, Autumn) Fansler, of Montrose, Colorado; two granddaughters, Kelsey Fansler and Hailey Fansler; one great-grandson, Luke Hunter Larson; a sister, Sandra Fansler Stults, of Springfield; one nephew, Hal Stults; one niece, Kimberly Benson Behl (husband, Kevin); four grand-nieces; and one great-grand-niece.
The memory of David will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known him. May he rest in peace.
