Donald W. Springer, 54, of Pawnee, Ill., passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill. Don was born April 21, 1960, in Taylorville, Ill., the son of William D. and Evarita J. Pleshe Springer. He married Alice F. Eldredge in 2010 in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Don was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid, Ill. He graduated from Pawnee High School in 1978 and was a self-employed carpenter. Don is survived by his wife, Alice, of Pawnee; his parents, Bill and Rita Springer, of Pawnee; one step-daughter, Jackie S. (husband, Eric) Hughes, of Springfield; one step-granddaughter; one brother, Jason S. (wife, Kimberly) Springer, of Weedsport, N.Y.; two sisters, Kathy A. (husband, Kent) Brown, of Hartford, Ky., and Lisa J. (husband, Edward) Bowen, of Pawnee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Don's family will meet friends Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. A funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid with the Rev. Alan Hunter officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
