Pawnee - Donald Lee Surber of Taylorville, Illinois, formerly of Pawnee died Friday, April 8, 2016, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur. Don was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Springfield, the son of Estil F. and Grace M. Bramlett Surber. He was preceded in death by his parents. Don was a graduate of Pawnee High School. He retired from Fiat-Allis Manufacturing in Springfield. He is survived by his two brothers, Gary W. (wife, Patricia) Surber, of Pawnee, and Robert E. Surber of Nicholsville, Virginia, three nieces and three nephews. Don's family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. The Rev. Chuck Kurfman will officiate. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Memorials honoring Don may be made to the Pawnee Community Library or the Pawnee School Foundation.
