Springfield - Dorla Imogene Danner, 86, of Springfield, Illinois, died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at her home in Springfield. Dorla was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Ipava, Ill. the daughter of Floyd and Carrie Johnson Walters. She married Eugene D. Danner on Sept. 4, 1947, in Astoria, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter Dianne Danner; one sister, Betty Shawgo and one brother, Roy Walters. Dorla was an Avon representative for 15 years. Dorla loved it when her grandkids and great grandkids were around. She loved her cats and flowers. Dorla loved to travel and was fortunate to visit all 50 states and Africa. She is survived by two sons, Dennis E. Danner of Sherman and David D. Danner of Springfield; two daughters, Debbie J. (husband, Chuck) Eddington and Dawn E. Danner, both of Springfield; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.
