Pawnee — Dorothy Pauline Magos, 97, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at Hickory Estates of Pana in Pana. She was born Aug. 15, 1926, in rural Taylorville, the daughter of William A. and Hemma Lewis Thomas. Dorothy married Joseph Magos on May 5, 1945, in Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe, in 2012; her daughter, Sharon L. Fansler; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Magos; one brother; and three sisters.

Dorothy graduated from Kincaid High School and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Danny J. Magos, of Buchanan, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Teddy and Todd Magos, Becky George and Jeff Fansler; five great-grandchildren, Luke, Brad and Laura George and Kelsey and Haley Fansler; one brother, Kenneth (wife, Kay) Thomas, of Taylorville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private family services were held. Burial was at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
