Dorothy McLaughlin, 97, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield. Dorothy was born March 17, 1919, in Maroa, Illinois, the daughter of L.L. and Elsie Masterson. She married James A. Mick McLaughlin in 1952. He passed away in 1981. She also was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pauline. For several years, Dorothy volunteered at Decatur Memorial Hospital delivering flowers to patients' rooms. She lived in Forsyth until 2012, when she moved to Springfield to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Dorothy is survived by her loving son, Kim M. "Mack" McLaughlin (Pat) of Springfield; two granddaughters, Lori Wickiser (Aaron Fiscus) of Lawrenceville and Heather McLaughlin (Mike Muzzy) of Bible Grove; and three great-grandchildren, Chyanne Plumb, Colen Wickiser and AJ Fiscus. Dorothy's family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Gracelawn Cemetery in Decatur with Rev. Aaron Griffith officiating. Curry Funeral Home is serving the family of Dorothy McLaughlin.
