SPRINGFIELD – Drucilla Ann Hill, 91, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Pawnee, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Lewis Memorial Home in Springfield.
Drucilla was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Springfield, the daughter of Arthur H. and Alice K. Low Schroll. She married LaVerne F. Hill on Nov. 27, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pawnee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern, in 2010; a daughter, Ann M. Hill in 2011; a brother, Robert C. Schroll; her niece, Jennifer K. Tucker; and a sister-in-law Hellen Baietto. She was raised by her grandmother, Minna Schroll.
Drucilla was a member of the Holy Cross Parish in Auburn, Ill., and the Catholic Daughters of America in Pawnee. She retired from St. John's Hospital in 1988 as a supply clerk. Drucilla graduated in 1943 from Feitshans High School. She had a love for animals and enjoyed reading, crocheting and working puzzles.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn L. Hill of Springfield and L. Christine (husband, Rodney) Tucker of Florence, Ill.; a grandson, Jacob Tucker; and a sister-in-law Betty Henson of Paris, Ill.
Drucilla's family will meet friends Tuesday, June 27, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kincaid, Ill., with Msgr. David S. Lantz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
