Pawnee — Elizabeth Mae "Sue" Gillmore, 89, of Napa, California, formerly of Pawnee, Illinois, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at Piners Nursing Home in Napa. Elizabeth was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Sharpsburg, Kentucky, the daughter of William E. and Lula H. Duncan Gilvin. She married Jack Orin Gillmore on Oct. 18, 1953, at Pawnee United Methodist Church in Pawnee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack, in 2012; three brothers, Clayton and Harold "Mit" Gilvin and James "Bud" Bowen. Elizabeth graduated from Ball Township High School. After she and Jack married, they moved to Point Arena, California, where they operated Gillmore's General Mercantile store until its closing in 1994. Elizabeth later worked at the Arena Movie Theater in Point Arena selling tickets. For the past six years, she resided in Yountville, California. Elizabeth is survived by one son, Colman P. Gillmore, of Point Arena; one daughter, Susan Maurine Gillmore, of Yountville; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil E. (wife, Jacqueline) Bowen of Pawnee and Dr. Walter O. (wife, Susan) Bowen of Bakersfield, California; three sisters, Edith M. Deavult, Shirley I. Gilbert and Carolyn A. (husband, Jack) Alspaugh, all of Pawnee; a sister-in-law, Vickie Bowen, of Edinburg, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee with Rev. Chuck Kurfman officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
