Ellen Maye Bos, 92, of Auburn, Ill., passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Ellen was born March 18, 1920, in Franklin, Ky., the daughter of Will and Norma Hankins Carter. She married George M. Bos on May 12, 1939, in St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1993; a daughter, Bonnie; a sister, Clara Mrosko; and four brothers, Lester, Winford, Clarence and James Carter. Ellen is survived by four sons, George (wife, Pat), of New Johnsonville, Tenn., Don (wife, Mary), of Springbrook, Wisc., B.J. (wife, Fran), of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jim, of Sandy, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Florence Gahr, of Auburn, Ill., and Billie Richmond, of Springfield; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ellen was a member of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene. Ellen's family will meet friends Monday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at the Auburn Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Brian Hay officiating. Burial will be in Auburn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Church of the Nazarene's Building Fund. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Ellen Bos.
