Pawnee — Eugene Francis Salisbury, 91, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Sept. 20, 2019, at Reflections Memory Care in Chatham.
Eugene was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Olney, the son of Chester L. and Katie Dunkel Salisbury. He married Waneta M. Jones on July 9, 1948, in Easton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Waneta, in 2000; six brothers and four sisters.
Eugene was a member of the Pawnee Assembly of God Church. He graduated from Morrisonville High School in 1946 and Great Lakes Bible School with a bachelor's degree in divinity in 1950. He retired as a shift engineer at Commonwealth Edison after 40 years of service.
Eugene is survived by three sons, Dale G. Salisbury of Springfield, Douglas E. (wife, Rhonda) Salisbury of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Dean A. (wife, Debbie) Salisbury of Springfield; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eugene's family will meet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at Pawnee Assembly of God with Rev. A.B. Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
