Frank Richard Higgason, 95, of Springfield, Ill., formerly of Pawnee, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Frank was born March 29, 1919, in Xenia, Ill., the son of Liffie A. and Lora E. Tate Higgason. He married Madelyn G. Miller on May 9, 1942, in Pawnee. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Madelyn, in 2005; an infant daughter; a brother, Martin S. Higgason; and his second wife, Jenna Irwin, in 2007. Frank was a farmer in the Pawnee area. Frank graduated from Pawnee High School in 1937. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the St. Mary's Knights of Columbus Council 6379, and the Christian County Farm Bureau. He is survived by his son, Terry R. "Butch" (wife, Connie) Higgason, of Pawnee; four daughters, Jan M. (husband, Don) Deacon, of Springfield, Barbara A. (husband, Dan) Courier, of Springfield, Marilyn K. (husband, John) Meikle, of Vero Beach, Fla., and Patty S. Gresta, of Rochester, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great- great-grandchildren. Private family services are scheduled with Rev. James Palakudy officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee, Ill.
