Frederick "Fred" J. Jarosz, of Springfield, Ill., peacefully died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at St. John's Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Diane Jarosz; his children, Bonnie (husband, Ed) Kolb, Francesca Jarosz (husband, Ryan) Brady, Jason (wife, Jennifer) Muncy, Mark Jarosz and Gary (wife, Mary) Jarosz; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Fred was known for his love for people and his passion for selling – whether it was life insurance or a nonprofit's mission. A native of Chicopee, Mass., Fred served in the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Air Force before beginning a career in insurance that included sales, management and executive roles. He moved to Springfield to join Horace Mann, retired from the company in 1991 and spent a decade fundraising for nonprofits including Hoogland Center for the Arts and Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Fred was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Rotary Club of Springfield and the American Legion. Fred's family will commemorate his life with friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired, 2960 Stanton St., Springfield. A additional visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, 815 S. Second St., Springfield.
