Gerald Fairley "Jerry" Graff, 88, of Springfield, Ill., died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Springfield, Ill. Jerry was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Gerald G. and Edythe R. Robinson Graff. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John G. Graff and his twin, James C. Graff. Jerry was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Springfield. He was a resident of the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind since 1972. Jerry was a member of the Mary Bryant Home singers and was an active resident participating on the homes Special Olympics team where he received numerous awards and ribbons. Jerry also participated in the YMCA's bowling league. He is survived by sisters-in-law Mary Graff, Downers Grove, Ill., and Janet Graff, Haverford, Pa., four nephews and a niece. Jerry's family will meet friends from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind. In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Jerry may be made to the Mary Bryant Home, 2960 Stanton St., Springfield, IL 62703. Burial will be at a later date on the family plot at Clarinda Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Jerry Graff.
