Gina Marie Black, 43, of Springfield, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at her home in Springfield. Gina was born June 20, 1972, in Springfield, the daughter of William L. and Vivian M. Scattergood Jarrett. She married Daniel P. Black on April 8, 2013, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Cheryl Jarrett. Gina attended Tri-City High School. She was employed as a bus driver for the Tri-City School District for seven years. Gina is survived by her husband, Dan; her parents, Bill and Vivian Jarrett, of Kincaid, Ill.; grandparents, Barbara Ann and Eugene Scattergood, of Dawson, Ill.; a son, Kevin W. Prior, of Dawson; and a daughter, Kala M. Prior of Dawson; two grandchildren, Niyah and Kyson Leonard; two sisters, Krista L. Miller, of Bulpitt, Ill. and Victoria R. Jarrett, of Glenarm, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gina's family will meet friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. The Rev. Aaron Griffith will officiate. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery in Pawnee. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Gina Black.
