Pawnee — Henry Edward Morgan, 89, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy. Henry was born July 3, 1930, in Springfield, the son of Gladys Pittman. He was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters, Ruby Curtis and Ina Murphy; two brothers, Charlie and Les Morgan; and one nephew, Kenneth Morgan.
Henry was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked on the family farm until he was 35. He later worked at the Pawnee Lumber Yard for 10 years.
Henry is survived by one great-nephew, James (wife, Lindsey) Morgan, of Springfield; one great-great-niece, Kailyn Whaley, of Rochester; one brother; and one sister.
Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019, at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County conducting military honors. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
