Iris Gail Lipe, 87, of Pawnee, Ill., died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at her home in Pawnee. Iris was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Mounds, Ill., the daughter of Corum A. and Maude T. Stoner Ragsdale. She married Charles L. Lipe on Nov. 8, 1946, in Carbondale, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, in 2002; a granddaughter, Mindy Bolinger and two brothers, Gilbert and Warren Ragsdale. Iris was a 1946 graduate of Carbondale Community High School. She was an active member of the Pawnee Assembly of God (PAG) Church. She was a member of PAG's Sonseekers seniors group and the Crusaders Sunday School Class which met at the Lytle home. Iris decorated for the church's ladies luncheons and mother and daughter banquets for many years and was a member of the Good Samaritans' Camping Club. She also enjoyed southern gospel music. Iris is survived by three daughters, Gayla J. Brockhouse of Herrin, Ill, Diana K. (husband, Jody) Cramer of Dayton, Ohio, and Patricia A. (husband, Danny) Marx, of Pawnee; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Iris's family will meet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at the Pawnee Assembly of God Church. The Rev. A.B. Bennett will officiate. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Memorials honoring Iris may be made to the Pawnee Assembly of God Church. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Iris Lipe.
