Pawnee — James Edgar Dickey, 84, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Jim was born July 29, 1933, in Divernon, the son of Edgar A. and Mary H. Catizon Dickey. He married Lois Ann Dozier Sept. 17, 1954, in Pawnee. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a sister-in-law.
Jim was a member of the Pawnee Christian Church and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1956. He was a 1953 graduate of Pawnee High School. Jim was a past master and 60-year member of the Pawnee Masonic Lodge #675 AF&AM, past patron of the Pawnee Order of the Eastern Star #436, and a member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau, AARP and the Pawnee American Legion Post #586.
Jim is survived by his wife, Lois, of Pawnee; two sons, Thomas E. (wife, Lisa) Dickey of Collinsville and Ralph E. (wife, Debbie) Dickey of Atchison, Kansas; two daughters, Teresa A. (husband, Bill) Dickey-Rogers and Lisa I. (husband, Mark) Klein of Pawnee; four grandchildren; Tom T. (companion, Don Wood) Dickey of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Christopher Dickey of Pullman, Washington; Melissa (husband, Devan) Nance of Pawnee; and Abbigail Dickey of Collinsville; three brothers; three sisters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee with Stan Likes speaking. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
