Pawnee – Jeffrey Wayne Bowen, 53, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Heritage Health in Springfield. Jeff was born Aug. 31, 1965, in Springfield, the son of Cecil E. Bowen Jr. and Jacqueline A. Schuecking Bowen. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles. Jeff was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Springfield. He graduated from Pawnee High School in 1984, where he was the manager for all the high school's sports teams. He graduated McKendree College in Lebanon. Jeff was a computer whiz and loved to play pool. Jeff is survived by his parents, Ed and Jackie Bowen, of Pawnee; two brothers, Edward L. (wife, Lisa) Bowen and Tim A. Bowen, both of Pawnee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeff's family will meet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Pawnee United Methodist Church with Rev. Chuck Kurfman and Rev. Jeff Grant officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pawnee Food Pantry, P.O. Box 304, Pawnee, IL 62558.
