Pawnee — Jenetta Scott, 88, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at her home in Pawnee surrounded by her family. Jenetta was born June 5, 1936, in Annville, Kentucky, the daughter of Horace and Hattie Crain Scott. She married Linn Drennan Scott on Aug. 27, 1955, at Pawnee United Methodist Church in Pawnee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linn, in 2016; her daughter, Debra Kroeger; three sisters, Betty Lou Willman, Loretta Harris and Rosalie Stewart; and two brothers, Harold and Charles Scott.

Jenetta was a member of the Pawnee United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Jenetta was the owner of Jan's Flowers in Pawnee and worked at Burlington Coat Factory and Spiegel Catalog Store in Springfield.

She is survived by her three grandchildren, Kari Howard, Scott (wife, Christina) Howard and Chris Howard, all of Pawnee; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Howard of Springfield, Hayden, Shelby, Logan and Mason Howard of Pawnee, and Madison and Jase of Springfield; two great-great grandchildren, Violet Hill and Zachary Zuber; two sisters, Tammy Pate of Waggner and Joyce (husband, Wayne) Williams of Moline; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cremation rights will be accorded. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee at a later date.
