SPRINGFIELD — Joseph Patrick Daugherty Sr., 65, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Pawnee, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022, at his home. Joe was born June 21, 1956, in Springfield, the son of John "Jack" D. and Mary Lou Enders Daugherty. He married Rebecca M. Bauer Oct. 10, 1998, at First Congregational Church in Springfield. Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Ray King Jones; and four brothers, Michael Daugherty, Jack Daugherty, Peter Daugherty and Ray Jones. Joe was of the Catholic faith. He attended Springfield High School and owned Daugherty Flooring. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and getting together with friends. Joe is survived by his wife, Becky, of Pawnee; two sons, Joseph P. Daugherty Jr. of Pawnee and William J. Daugherty of Colorado; one daughter, Tracey A. Daugherty, of Tovey; four grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe's family will meet friends from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee, with Rev. Chris Covey officiating.
