Pawnee — Juanita June Watkins, 89, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at her daughter's home in Pawnee. Juanita was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Anna, the daughter of Earl F. and Reba H. Hurforde Bell. She married Howard L. Watkins on Jan. 11, 1948, in Dongola. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard, in 2005; three sons, Howard Jr., Wayne and Kevin Watkins; one daughter, Marjorie; one brother, Raymond Bell; and one sister, Shirley Meier.
Juanita was a member of New Horizons Southern Baptist Church in Pawnee. She worked in the cafeteria at HSHS St. John's Hospital. She also was a foster parent for more than 40 years, providing a home to over 400 children during that time.
Juanita is survived by one son, Larry (wife, Toni) Watkins, of Riverton; three daughters, Alice (husband, Bob) Cain of Ocala, Florida, Bonnie Amey of Naples, Florida, and Lisa (husband, Brad) Hesse of Pawnee; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Effadale (husband, Mike) Miller, of Buncombe.
A private graveside service will be held at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
