Pawnee — Judith Ann Clauser, 77, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at the Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro. Judy was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Springfield, the daughter of Kenneth J. and Elma I. Smith Staley. She married James E. Clauser July 3, 1972, in the Bahamas. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth; her husband, James, in 2017; a son, Rick A. McCarty, in 2008; maternal grandparents, Lloyd R. and Dorothy Smith Foster; and paternal grandmother, Carrie J. Staley.

Judy was a 1963 graduate of Pontiac High School and a 1964 graduate of Brown's Business College. She worked for First National Bank in Springfield for 10 years before joining her husband in running Crown Trucking Inc. in Pawnee.

Judy is survived by two stepsons, Jim L. Clauser and Steven E. Clauser, both of Pawnee; one step-daughter, Cynthia A. Clauser, of Sacramento, California; her mother, Elma Staley, of Monticello; two brothers, Wayne (wife, Gabrielle) Staley of Kansas City, Missouri, and Terry (wife, Jennie) Staley of Fairborn, Ohio; one sister, Sandra J. Redford, of Hamilton, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy lived a full life. She will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. Our family is grateful to know that Judy is finally at peace. Per her request, cremation rites were accorded.
