Linn Drennan Scott of Pawnee, Illinois, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill. Linn was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Harristown, the son of Omar B. and Pearl J. Linn Scott. He married Jenetta Scott on Aug. 27, 1955, at the Pawnee United Methodist Church in Pawnee. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. Linn was a member of the Pawnee United Methodist Church. He retired from Kennedy Metal Works in Taylorville. He is survived by his wife, Jenetta, of Pawnee; one daughter, Debra L. (husband, Steve) Kroeger, of Mesa, Arizona; three grandchildren, Kara A. (husband, Ben) Howard, of Houston, Texas, Scott A. (wife, Christina) Howard of Pawnee and Chris L. (wife, Ellie) Howard of Pawnee; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Howard of Springfield, Hayden Howard of San Antonio, Texas, Shelby, Logan and Mason Howard of Pawnee, Madison of Pawnee and Jase of Springfield; one brother, Sherman D. (wife, Julia) Scott, of Columbia, South Carolina, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Diane Kane. Linn's family will meet friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. The Rev. Chuck Kurfman will officiate. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee at a later date. Memorials honoring Linn may be made to the Pawnee Food Pantry, P.O. Box 304, Pawnee, IL 62558 or to a charity of your choice.
