Pawnee — Lloyd Wayne Gray, 85, of Pawnee, Illinois, formerly of Chatham, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Lloyd was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Lincoln, the son of Leonard D. and Eileen M. Tinsley Gray. He married Katherine K. Nissen, and they later divorced. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his foster parents; and his brother, Harold Gray.

Lloyd was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea. He worked as a custodian for Ball-Chatham CUSD5 schools, retiring in 1999. Lloyd loved NASCAR racing.

Lloyd is survived by a son, Brian W. Gray, of Pawnee; four grandchildren; a sister, Helen Kern, of Auburn; two nieces and one nephew.

Lloyd's family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee.
