Pawnee — Louella Faye Hughes, 88, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at The Bridge Care Suites in Springfield. Louella was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Pawnee. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Deveda Bowen, and Woodrow (Pappy) Hinds; husbands, James Estes and Jesse L. Hughes; and two brothers, Jesse Cody and Larry Hinds.

Louella was a member of Pawnee United Methodist Church and attended Pawnee High School. Louella loved to crochet and work in her flower beds. She enjoyed her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by one son, James R. Estes, of Pawnee; four daughters, Deborah F. Venable of Port Gibson, Mississippi, Pamelia L. (husband, Joseph) Jachino of Springfield, Cynthia A. Miller of Carlinville, and Shelia I. (husband, Donald) Farris of Pawnee; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services are scheduled for a later date. Burial will be at Harper Ferry Cemetery in Palmer.
