WINCHESTER — Marcia Lynn Morris, 67, of Winchester, formerly of Springfield and Jacksonville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022, at her home in Winchester. Marcia was born Jan. 28, 1955, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the daughter of Wendell M. and Velma L. Pillow Duncan. She married Raymond C. "Butch" Morris on June 16, 1979, at Woodside Methodist Church in Springfield. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents.
Marcia grew up in Springfield and was a 1973 graduate of Springfield Southeast High School. She was a past president and active member of the Mother of Twins Club. Marcia was a hairdresser and owned several beauty shops throughout her career, including Marcia's Beauty Shop at her home, New Image and Capital City in Springfield, and at Knollwood Retirement Village and Lavender Ridge in Jacksonville. She retired in 2019.
Marcia was a beautiful, loving person inside and out. Everyone who knew her was fortunate to have had her in their life. She loved doing crafts and playing with her dogs, Oreo, Dew and True.
Marcia is survived by her husband, Butch, of Winchester; one stepson, Brian Morris, of Springfield; twin daughters, Mandy Morris of Jacksonville and Wendy Morris of Springfield; two grandchildren, Kaydyn and Typonya; and one sister, Bonnie (Ronnie) Duncan, of Springfield.
Marcia's family will meet friends from 4 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee, with Patsy Kelly officiating. Marcia donated her body to science, hoping it would help others from experiencing the pain and suffering she endured. A celebration of life service also will be held at a later date.
