Pawnee — Marilyn Ann Minder, 70, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at home with family. Marilyn was born Dec. 22, 1947, in South Holland, the daughter of Arch and Alice Mlinek McLaughlan. She married Walter Laverne Minder on Nov. 1, 1969. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike McLaughlan.
Marilyn attended the Pawnee Christian Church and Rochester Christian Church. Marilyn started her career in teaching before devoting her time to her children as a full-time homemaker, where she was active in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed gardening, reading, fellowship at the YMCA of Taylorville and helping her husband on the farm.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Walter Laverne Minder, of Pawnee; one son, Wes (wife, Jody) Minder, of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Maureen Minder of Richmond, Virginia, and Ellie Minder of Madison, Wisconsin; one brother, John (wife, Susan) McLaughlan, of Fisher, Indiana; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn's family will meet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of a funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at the Pawnee Christian Church with Rev. Kevin Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
