Springfield — Marjorie L. Reid, 91, of Springfield, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Springfield, Ill. Margie was born Feb. 11, 1926, in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew and Myrtle C. Anderson Reid. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, William Smith; a brother, Wally Reid and her sister, Louis Brown. Margie was a resident of the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind since 1982 and was a member of the Mary Bryant Home singers. She loved to read and listen to music. Marjorie had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her sister Nancy J. (husband, Gene) Outler, of Hammond, Indiana and a nephew. Marjorie's family will meet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind. In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Margie may be made to the Mary Bryant Home, 2960 Stanton St., Springfield, IL 62703. Burial will be at a later date.
