Obituary

Mildred "Midge" L. Busby, 91, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Thursday, March 18, 2021, at Eastland Retirement Community in Auburn. Midge was born Nov. 16, 1929, in Witt, the daughter of Alvin L. and Margaret Rushford Hoehn. She married Byron G. Busby in Nokomis Feb. 3, 1948. Midge was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Byron L. "Louie" Busby; a daughter Susan Busby Becker; a grandson Shawn Busby; a granddaughter Jennifer Craddock; and a sister Eugenia Beasley. Midge graduated from Witt High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Midge's hobbies included reading, baking, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles and playing bingo. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, and she loved being a part of the Eastland Retirement Community. Midge is survived by one daughter, Marge (husband, Brent) Adams, of Divernon; two sons, Steve (companion, Mary Beth) Busby of Kincaid and Jim (wife, Rita) Busby of Pawnee; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Josephine Porter, of Columbus, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Midge's family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. A private graveside service will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
