Obituary

Springfield — Nancy Jane Schull, 80, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Arcadia Care on the Hill in Springfield. Nancy was born Nov. 18, 1945, in Springfield, the daughter of Henry J. and Naomi M. Brandon Mathes. She married Daniel B. Schull on March 1, 1976, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Patrick and John Mathes; one sister, Judith Mathes; and her husband, Dan, in 2025.

Nancy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and worked as a case worker for the Illinois Department of Public Aid. She and her husband, Dan, were residents at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind and Visually Impaired for several years, where they formed many meaningful friendships.

Nancy is survived by her son, Daniel Schull II, of Springfield; her sister, Donna M. Mathes, and her brother, Michael Mathes, both of Springfield, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, with Rev. Lindsey Young officiating.
