Naomi A. Fugate, 79, of Springfield, Ill. formerly of Auburn, Ill., passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Naomi was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Albany, Ky, the daughter of Billie L. and Anna T. Smith Patton. She married Robert H.Fugate on Oct. 22, 1960 in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert, in 2009; an infant son; five half brothers and three half sisters. Naomi was a member of the Prairie Temple Church in Virden. Naomi is survived by a daughter, Shelly A. (husband, Eric) Smith, of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley; three brothers, Robert F. Patton, of Springfield, Charles L. (wife, Edna) Patton Sr., of Auburn and David (wife, Ester) Patton of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Eva (husband, Bill) Curtis, of Thayer, Ill. Naomi's family will meet friend's from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m., Fri., July 10, 2015, at the Curry Funeral Home. The Rev Terry Turner and Rev. Rodney Tate will officiate. Burial will be at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Naomi A. Fugate.
