Obituary

Pawnee — Patrick Wade Donahue, 58, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. Pat was born July 19, 1968, in Macomb, the son of Jackie "Jack" L. and Karen I. Stehl Donahue. He married Diane Proffitt on April 12, 1990, in Taylorville. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara; two nephews, Sean and Wade Donahue; a niece, Amanda Donahue; and his beloved dog, Shadow.

Pat attended Morrisonville High School and was a Miami Dolphins and Dale Earnhardt fan. He was a truck driver for over 25 years and worked for Blackhawk Transport, Crown Trucking, and most recently, TAS Trucking in Pawnee.

Pat is survived by his wife, Diane Donahue, of Pawnee; three sons, Jesse L. Donahue of Pawnee, Patrick M. (wife, Andrea) Donahue of Pleasant Plains and Beau P. (wife, Jordan) Donahue of Pawnee; five grandchildren, Avery, Aubrie, Jacob and Lainey, with one granddaughter on the way; two brothers, Vince W. (wife, Kathleen) Donahue of Decatur and Charles W. Donahue of Girard; one sister, Kayla L. (husband, Rodney) Hunsley, of Kincaid; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat's family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee, with the procession forming at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.

A celebration of life gathering is being planned for a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family. The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers and support shown during this difficult time.
