Paul Eugene Mottar, 76, of Pawnee, Ill., passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville, Ill. Paul was born Jan. 11, 1939, in New City, Ill, the son of Ralph L. and Gladys L. Dallas Mottar. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Paul owned and operated Mottar Electric in Pawnee for more than 50 years and was a member of the Sangamon County Farm Bureau. Paul was a member of the last graduating class of Ball Township High School in 1957. Paul is survived by three sons, Todd R. (wife, Ann) Mottar, of New City, Ill., Scott L. (wife, Brenda) Mottar, of Glenarm, Ill. and Ralli L. (wife, Judy) Mottar, of Pawnee and a grandson Max. A private family service is planned. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery in Pawnee. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Paul Mottar. Memorials honoring Paul may be made to the Pawnee Food Pantry.
