Peggy L. Dennison, 55, of Virden, Illinois, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Peggy was born June 20, 1965, in Springfield, the daughter of Richard E. and Eurma J. Weaver Castleman. Peggy married Richard E. Dennison on Aug. 4, 1990, in Virden. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ed and Bob Broaddus; and one sister, Penny Reynolds. Peggy was strong in her Baptist faith. She graduated from Virden High School in 1983. Peggy was a certified nursing assistant for 35 years and worked at Pleasant Hill Village for several years. She loved her family and was a friend to everyone. Peggy is survived by her husband, Rick, of Virden; two sons, Richard E. (wife, Amy) Dennison Jr. of Greenview and Devon (Christine) Register of Springfield; one daughter, Nicole (husband, Rusty) Tolly, of Virden; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Danny (wife, Linda) Broaddus of Michigan, Mark Hupp of Virden and Ricky (wife, Jenny) Castleman of Michigan; and one sister, Pamela Dennison, of Michigan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. Rev. Ron Rhoades will officiate. Burial will follow at Girard Cemetery in Girard. Illinois COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, including wearing masks and observing social distancing.
