Pawnee -- Phyllis Ann Lewis, 79, of Pawnee, Illinois, died Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield. Phyllis was born Dec. 4, 1936, in Beardstown, the daughter of Lawrence E. and Mary C. Avery McDannald. She married Robert W. Lewis on March 10, 1955 in Beardstown. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Phyllis worked at Marine Bank, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Pawnee Order of the Eastern Star 436. Phyllis is survived by two sons, Roger A. (wife, Laurie) Lewis of Mechanicsburg and Mark E. (wife, Scarlett) Lewis of Pawnee; one daughter, Marcie A. (husband, Dale) Walters of Pawnee; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Phyllis' family will meet friends from noon until the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee with Rev. Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee. Memorials honoring Phyllis may be made to the Pawnee Food Pantry, P.O. Box 304, Pawnee, IL 62558.
