R. Eileen Carter, 86, of Springfield, Ill., passed away Friday, June 21, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill. Eileen was born March 10, 1927, in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Guyverson (Guy) and Bessie McDonald Hinds. She married George R. Carter at Westside Christian Church Springfield in 1946. She is preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph "Pete", Gilbert "Gib" and John Hinds and a sister, Helen Alexander. Eileen is survived by her husband, George R. Carter Sr., of Springfield; two daughters, Sandra K. Huff, of Virden and Pamela S. Carter of Springfield; one son, George R. "Rick" (wife, Mary) Carter Jr., of Pawnee, Ill.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services wereheld at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Rev. David Nicholson officiated. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee is serving the family of Eileen Carter.
