Jeiseyville — Robert William Lynch, 88, of Jeiseyville, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield. Bob was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Carlinville, the son of Gilbert W. and Gertrude A. Crouch Lynch. He married Mary Catherine Howard on Oct. 4, 1980, at the Springfield Southern Baptist Church in Springfield. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a stepdaughter, Diane Bryant, in 1997.

Bob graduated from Springfield High School in 1956 and attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for two years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Bob was a member of the Kincaid Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and served as treasurer for several years. He also was a past member of the Springfield Southern Baptist Church in Springfield, where he taught Sunday School.

Bob was a technician at NCR for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. After he retired, he was a school bus driver in Taylorville for several years and trained other drivers as well. He also delivered Meals on Wheels in Kincaid. Bob loved motorcycles and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, making many trips to California and Utah. He also was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching "America's Got Talent."

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, of Jeiseyville; one son, Greg (wife, Kelli) Lynch, of Springfield; one daughter, Kendra Jackson, of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Sydney, Rory, Morgan, Allie, Kera, Rick and Jeff; and six great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Bob's family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee, with Rev. Louis Kunz officiating. A private burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery in New Berlin.
