Pawnee — Ruth Ann Cincebox, 84, of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Pawnee, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Estate Senior Living in Springfield. She was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Pawnee, the daughter of John H. and Mary E. Reynolds Nichols. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Darlene K. Fischer; a granddaughter, Ali M. Fischer; and a brother, Joseph Nichols.

Ruth Ann was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church of Springfield. She graduated from Pawnee High School in 1958 and was the class valedictorian. She worked for Shelter Insurance Companies in Springfield for 38 years before retiring. Ruth Ann was a member of the Red Hat Society of Springfield. She also was a Chicago Bears fan and had a special love for pets.

Ruth Ann is survived by her daughter, Michele "Micki" (husband, Chris) Kolb, of Springfield; a son-in-law, Craig Fischer, of New Berlin; two grandchildren, Mia Utinske and Lacey Clark; one brother, Jack "John" (wife, Karen) Nichols, of Riverton; one sister, Rebecca Durrani, of Pawnee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth Ann's family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, with Rev. Troy Easley officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
