Pawnee — Ruth Marea Herberger, 87, of Galesburg, Michigan, formerly of Troy, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Ruth was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Dimondale, the daughter of Leroy B. and Marie B. Morse Johnson. She married Everett F. Herberger on July 17, 1954, at Bethel Assembly of God Church in Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
Ruth was a member of the Assembly of God Ministry. She was a graduate of Goodrich High School, and she earned her bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. Ruth was a certified teacher in Michigan.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Everett, of Galesburg; two sons, Paul W. (wife, Janis) Herberger of Attica and Mark A. (wife, Cheryl) Herberger of Lawton; one daughter, Pam J. Bach, of Clawson; one sister, Maralene Kennett, of Argentine; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 41 nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
Ruth's family will meet friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, at the Pawnee Assembly of God Church in Pawnee, Illinois, with Rev. A.B. Bennett officiating. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, including wearing masks, observing social distancing and limiting attendance. Family and friends may view a livestream video of the service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 16, at facebook.com/curryfh. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
