Pawnee — Sandra "Sandi" Lynne Hill, 73, of Pawnee, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at Regency Care in Springfield. She was born Feb. 28, 1950, in Springfield, the daughter of Brice O. and Elizabeth J. Reynolds Thomas. She married Gary W. Hill on Sept. 29, 1969, at Zenobia Baptist Church in Pawnee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gary, in 2012; and her sister, Connie Young, in 2018.

Sandi graduated from Pawnee High School in 1968. She was a charter member of Pawnee Women of Today and was a homemaker. She helped run Hill Excavating alongside her husband, Gary, for more than 40 years. Sandi loved her family, and she considered her grandchildren to be the love of her life. She also loved family trips to the Ozarks, bingo at the Pawnee United Methodist Church, senior dinners at Pawnee Christian Church and outings with her niece Lindsey.

Sandi is survived by her three daughters, Aimee L. (husband, Daniel) Kaiser, Alana L. (husband, Josh) Ward and Allison L. (husband, Jonathan) Stewart, all of Pawnee; eight grandchildren, Brice and Elizabeth Kaiser, Claire, Caden and Canon Ward and Paislie, Skyelie and Brexlie Stewart; one brother-in-law, Bob Young, of Pawnee; one nephew; two nieces; and several cousins.

Sandi's family will meet friends from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee, with Randy Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
