Susan Lynn Putnam Barlow, 65, of Pawnee, Ill., died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill. She was born Aug. 23, 1946, in Madison, Wisc., the daughter of Melvin E. and Jean Weber Putnam. She married David J. Barlow on Jan. 31, 1975, in Orlando, Fla. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rodney A. Putnam. Susan was a former kindergarten teacher and part-time substitute teacher in Pawnee. She also taught in Madison, Wisc., and Florida. Susan was a dedicated wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, David, of Pawnee; two sons, Jason J., of Alexandria, Va., and Bert J., of Rochester, Ill.; and one niece, Laurie Welsh, of Florida. Susan's family will meet friends on Friday, March 30, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee. The Rev. John Nelson will officiate.
