Sylvester I. Hill Jr. SPRINGFIELD - Sylvester "Tate" Isaac Hill Jr., 53, of Loami, Ill., passed away Nov. 21, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1961, the son of Sylvester I. Hill Sr. and Minnie P. Ellenburg. Sylvester was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rose Marie Phillips; and a brother, James "Jimmy" Hill. He was self-employed as a carpenter. Sylvester is survived by two brothers, Calvin Hill of St. Paul, Minn., and Thomas Hill of Loami; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Curry Funeral Home in Pawnee, Ill., served the family of Sylvester Hill Jr.
