Obituary

Springfield — Tony Ray Jimison, 58, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Tony was born Oct. 17, 1967, in Springfield, the son of Harold C. and Loretta M. Norman Jimison. He married Tina Jurgens on July 10, 1989, in Springfield, and they later divorced. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Tina Moyer; a brother, Gary Jimison; a nephew, George Moyer III; and an uncle, William Landrith.

Tony worked as a self-employed handyman and also did roofing work over the years.

Tony was a diehard Raiders fan and an avid collector of football cards. He had a special love for reptiles, especially his bearded dragon, Max. Tony cherished time spent with his family and friends and was known for his quick wit and constant joking. He enjoyed watching westerns and "Gilligan's Island," fishing, camping and collecting action figures. He was also a devoted fan of Ozzy Osbourne.

Tony is survived by his former wife, Tina Ippert, of Springfield; four sons, Tony R. Jimison II (Alexis) of Spaulding, Takoma R. Jimison (Liz) of Springfield, Jeffrey F.D. Stubbs (Ashley) of Cornland, and Jeffrie R. Ippert of Springfield; one daughter, Tammy L. Feagans, of Springfield; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Jimison, David Jimison and Bobby Jimison; three sisters, Lisa Jimison, Kim Boggs and Pam Boggs; his favorite Aunt Debbie; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation rites were accorded. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
